Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory (MBG LAB) is a sophisticated, well equipped research and diagnostics center.
MBG Lab is one of the most advanced centers in the Middle East, and undertakes many basic and applied research projects in the field of animal science such as:
- chromosome characterization of camelids and equine species,
- sequencing of mitochondrial DNA of the dromedary camel,
- generation of species specific DNA probes for avian species identification,
- pathogen identifications,
- avian sex determination,
- DNA genotyping and
- parentage verification tests for equine and camelids.
MBG recently launched a Veterinary Stem Cell Therapy service called MBG-Stem. It is a unique technology for treatment of Tendons, Ligaments and Joints. This technique makes use of adult stems cells that are collected from the adipose tissue of an animal. These cells are then reinjected into the animals to enhance the healing process.
